Our new normal has evolved. We are no longer able to pop out and get something. We now need a plan. Big or small. We have to know what time the shops are open, if they allow you to walk in or if you need to click & collect, do they deliver…

It’s not all bad. Our focus has changed to what we need. Not what we want.

We are learning to simplify.

What we eat. The clothes we wear. The books we read. How we move. This restriction is allowing us to fine tune the way we function on all levels. Disposable is no longer an option (Was it ever?). If we need something we want it to be of quality, it needs to last. We are also, now ever greater than before, concerned of where our ‘things’ come from. How are they made. What does it take to grow our food, to make a t-shirt, to print our books.

Can you see how complicated simplifying is?

It’s going to take some practice and effort.
It’s going to take conscious decisions.
It’s going to take creativity to use what we have.
It’s going to take agility.
It’s going to need researching.

We need to be present.

Here.

Simplifying is going to be great for all of us. We get to do more with what we already have. Having less means more.

“The hardest thing in the world is to simplify your life; it’s so easy to make it complex.” - Yvon Chouinard
